Opportunities for All
A branch Church of Christ, Scientist, affords spiritual opportunities to all its members. In it there lies valuable experience for young Christian Scientists who have entered into membership for the purpose of strengthening the church in its spiritual objectives, and there is also continued development for those who have been active for many years. The attitude of the new members needs to be humble but alert and expectant of green pastures of development that lie ahead.
Every member should be assigned work to do, and no one should be shut out because of his youth. Paul gave advice to Timothy that touches the young church member of today. He said (I Tim. 4:12), "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."
Such qualifications can be expressed in any position, and when they are, they not only give evidence of a right spirit, but also assure the membership that the youthful Scientist is ready for serious responsibilities.
