Is there a "new morality" and, if so, what are its implications for such traditional values as individual liberty, dignity, artistic excellence and good conduct?
Labeling anything as genuinely new is a risky business; the human being has a marked tendency to repeat, albeit in different forms, very ancient experiences and views.... Although sexual mores often dominate the discussion, the so-called new morality extends far beyond to such seemingly disparate questions as religion and foreign policy, indeed to the meaning of life itself.
