FAR-FLUNG
Peace be multiplied to you!
Far-flung through space and time and tongue
this heavenly blessing runs.
Darius the Persian caught it up from Mind
after that night of portent—
the night of the lions' den—
and sent it forth to all peoples,
in all languages, in all the earth,
proclaiming the God Daniel had proved
before his very eyes.
Core of every prophet's thought,
here and now men of goodwill
catch it up and send it forth from Love
with scientific healing force
to all peoples of the earth,
to all beasts, tame or wild, everywhere —
to lions like those Daniel knew —
to all birds in nest or tree or air.
Peace be multiplied to you!
Swift, with power, this blessing runs, far-flung.
