My mother learned of Christian Science when I was about to be...
My mother learned of Christian Science when I was about to be born. She was forty years old, and the doctor said if he saved the life of one of us, he would be doing well. The nurse on the case asked my mother if she would like a Christian Science practitioner and told her of this wonderful truth. My mother said she would like to speak to one. The doctor on the case was notified that a practitioner was to be called and he approved the decision wholeheartedly. A practitioner was called; the birth was harmonious. From that time on, my mother took a deep and active interest in Science.
I was healed instantaneously of German measles when I was in my early twenties. I asked my mother to call a practitioner for help for me; within one hour the symptoms had disappeared, and I fell asleep. When I awakened the fever and all pain had gone.
I also experienced the filling of a large cavity in a tooth the dentist said would have to be removed. He had X-rayed the tooth and made an appointment for a few days later to remove it. I studied to know the truth that God does not make imperfection. When I went to the dentist again, I asked him to X-ray the tooth. He did and said that it was unbelievable, that he must have made a mistake because the tooth no longer needed removing. He checked the first picture, and it showed the large cavity. But the cavity was no longer there, and he said he couldn't believe his eyes.
