The Children's "toy and strong tower"
[Of special interest to children]
In writing of her discovery, Christian Science, Mrs. Eddy says, "It is the dear children's toy and strong tower." Miscellaneous Writings, p. 252;
We all know what a strong tower is, but perhaps we have never thought of Christian Science as a toy. However, a toy we love very much is something we turn to again and again. When we are very young we sometimes take a teddy bear or a doll to bed and hug it to our hearts; and sometimes we reach out for it in the night hours.
Even when we are older and someone gives us a toy that pleases us, we keep it near, perhaps on the night table beside our bed, where we can see it the first thing when we wake up in the morning. We feel that we want to keep it with us forever.
