In an accident in my home I seriously injured my arm

In an accident in my home I seriously injured my arm. The immediate experience was sharp pain. Suggestions of swelling, discoloration, and possible loss of use of the arm had to be handled.

Turning to Christian Science, my thought was directed first to "the scientific statement of being" on page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The statement begins: "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all." Working with this statement raised my thought to God, the creator of the universe including man. Since He governs the universe by His own perfect intelligence, nothing as untoward as an accident can occur in the universe. An accident must be a false belief incapable of affecting God's man.

Thought was then directed to these sentences on page 393 of Science and Health: "Mind is the master of the corporeal senses, and can conquer sickness, sin, and death. Exercise this God-given authority. Take possession of your body, and govern its feeling and action." I saw that where physicality appeared to human sense, spirituality actually was. Spiritual ideas are unchanging in perfection of action. A spiritual idea can never be less than perfect because it is a creation of divine Mind.
