Our Sunday Schools
After Advertising
"Are we ready?"
When church members have decided to advertise their Sunday School, officers in the Sunday School should ask themselves if they are ready to support this forward step. The host or hostess at the door, the secretaries registering, and the superintendent who talks with visiting pupils and designates the classes where they will be placed may be the first Christian Scientists a newcomer sees. Their welcome must be sincere and warm.
There should be someone ready to accompany visitors to the registrar and to introduce them to their teachers. Everything possible should be done to make a visitor feel at ease. Although parents may not remain during Sunday School exercises, many times they are permitted to go along and see the location of classes; younger children often need assurance that their parents know where to find them afterward. Larger Sunday Schools may have several officers do this work so that no visitors are kept waiting.
