"Let the redeemed of the Lord...

"Let the redeemed of the Lord say so....Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!" Thus we read in Psalm 107 (verses 2 and 8), and so today I, filled with joy, should like to give thanks with my whole heart for a wonderful healing I experienced about eleven years ago through Christian Science.

At that time I had been experiencing sleepless nights, during which I was tormented with fear and anxiety at the thought that I might again be taken to the sanatorium for pulmonary diseases, where I had shortly before had to spend two years away from my husband and four children and a business. A doctor had told me before I was discharged from the sanatorium that if I were to suffer a relapse, he would have to operate. And now I was in this dreadful condition of mental and physical distress.

I was unable to sit up for more than an hour or two a day. Because I could not stay at home on account of the danger of infecting my children, I was allowed to go to dear friends in the country for a month. There I was supposed to recuperate, but instead my condition grew visibly worse.
