I have had many proofs of God's ever-present power during the years I have been studying Christian Science, and I should like to relate one in particular which I had a few years ago. After falling nine feet to a terrazzo floor I couldn't move. I was alone in the home at the time, but my husband returned shortly. He called a neighbor, and they lifted me to a bed.

I asked that a Christian Science practitioner be called. She began praying for me immediately and came to the house as soon as possible. In the meantime I had been declaring the truths I had learned in Christian Science, including the fact that God is ever present and all-power. I was confident, but those around me were afraid; so I was taken to a hospital for X rays.

These showed that among other injuries there were broken vertebrae, the ribs on the left side were broken, my left shoulder was crushed, and my skull was fractured. There was severe internal hemorrhaging and partial paralysis. Everything was done to make me comfortable, but the doctors said I couldn't possibly survive. So they didn't attempt to do any taping or to put on any casts.
