Watching and Praying

From early Hebrew history the tabernacle, and later the temple, played an important part in the religious life of the Hebrews. But only the priests could enter the holy place and there have direct audience with God. Today through Christian Science we have learned that each one may enter the sanctuary of Spirit and may commune individually with his Father.

There are no privileged or underprivileged. There is no age limit for the worship of God. From the first articulate word God from an infant's lips to the recitation of Holy Writ from the tongue of the learned, all are acceptable to Him, who "is no respecter of persons" (Acts 10:34).

The Sunday services and the Wednesday testimony meetings in Christian Science churches are hallowed occasions. "To hallow" means to make holy; to consecrate. Every week those who are seeking a better understanding of God and of the healings which result from this understanding come together at these services to pray and to listen to the Word of God from our impersonal pasthe Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.
