Since my parents are both Christian Scientists, I learned to rely on God divine Truth, Love, and Principle, from an early age. During my last year at high school I was very ill with influenza. As I slowly became unable to stand, or even sit up due to a lack of balance, a practitioner was called.

However, my fear that I would fail my examinations through missing important revision classes held up the healing until it was shown to me that man, being the perfect reflection of God, is upright and cannot fear. After the practitioner had given the family these lines from the Christian Science Hymnal to think about, the healing came very quickly (No. 134):
