Christ, Truth, Our Saviour

A student of Christian Science lay awake one night deeply troubled. Suddenly he thought, "Why, I have not applied the truth to the errors that are disturbing me."' He began at once to deny each error as it came to thought and to affirm its spiritual counterfact.

Soon he saw that the false suggestions and arguments that were upsetting him were no part of his real being. He discerned that they were no part of his unblemished, spiritual selfhood, because they were no part of its source, which is God pure Mind. Definite separation of the error from his thinking was taking place. As he calmly continued along this line, he realized that the discord was vanishing rapidly. In a little while, he was free. The erroneous thoughts causing the disorder had disappeared, as do dark shadows before the coming dawn. The light of the ever-present Christ, Truth, had awakened him from a false sense.

Writing of the illusory nature of sickness and sin, Mrs. Eddy has this to say in Science and Health (p. 230): "If sickness is real, it belongs to immortality; if true, it is a part of Truth. Would you attempt with drugs, or without, to destroy a quality or condition of Truth? But if sickness and sin are illusions, the awakening from this mortal dream, or illusion, will bring us into health, holiness, and immortality. This awakening is the forever coming of Christ, the advanced appearing of Truth, which casts out error and heals the sick."
