As I stood looking up at the...
As I stood looking up at the lovely, fully ripe fruit on a large cherry tree, I yearned to pick the luscious fruit. For over five years I had been suffering from what a doctor had called dysentery. The symptoms were much aggravated if I climbed a ladder or stretched. I would then be confined to my bed for several days with severe pain. During five years of treatment by a doctor, there was no improvement in my condition. But I was still eager to pick the cherries.
Just then a Christian Science practitioner and her husband came walking by and stopped to admire the beautiful fruit. I explained my problem to them. She told me that God is all good and that everything that He has made is good; so it could not possibly harm me to pick the lovely fruit.
Immediately the logic of her statements dawned on my thought. So quickly I got the ladder and started picking the fruit. I picked over one hundred quarts of cherries, without the slightest discomfort. I was healed from the moment that the practitioner told me that I would not suffer from picking the cherries.
