The messages of Easter are basic and familiar....The Resurrection foretells immortality for man; the earthly life and death of Jesus, reaching a climax in His return from the grave, gave a new meaning and basis to the universal relationship of God to man.

The accent on this highest of Christian holy days, then, is upon the after-life, the immortality for which each person, from self-regard if not from desire for spiritual purity, yearns.
