Christian Science was presented to me many years ago. A friend recommended three times that I seek help in Science. Finally, I listened, and I am so grateful that she was patient with me.

A nervous breakdown and a heart condition, called angina pectoris by the attending physician, had troubled me for eleven months. Part of the time I was bedfast; other times I was up and about, and I was cared for by relatives and friends. My husband was very loving and attentive. Many doctors and treatments were tried, but I was none the better. We had three little girls under school age, and, when I was so ill at times, I was fearful that I might leave them.

One day I went to my sister's house for a while on my way home from a visit to a doctor, and it was there the friend asked me to try Christian Science treatment. The next day I went to a practitioner whose name was selected from the list in The Christian Science Journal. She talked to me, and, among other things, she asked me if I would rely wholly on the truth, obtain a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and study the Lesson-Sermon, given in the Christian Science Quarterly. I had a copy of the King James Version of the Bible. She also asked me to attend a Church of Christ. Scientist, the next day. This I agreed to do and was happy about it.
