Scientific Liberty
"Liberty" has various definitions, one of which is "the quality or state of being free." Paul said (II Cor. 3:17), "Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty," and this shows the influence Jesus had upon his followers, for the Master had said (John 8:32), "The truth shall make you free."
Christian Science reveals the truth that makes free, the truth that God is the Mind of man and that divine Mind's opposite, the carnal mind, which would bind human beings with personal beliefs and inflexible opinions, has no power of itself to control anyone. We are masters of our own thinking.
The true Christian Scientist does not attempt to force spiritual truths upon others but presents what he knows of Science persuasively and intelligently. He knows that his example of right living is more powerful than words can ever be. Meekly he realizes that Mind controls real thought now and forever and that this truth is the scientific basis of true liberty.
