"In thy presence is fulness of joy;...
"In thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore" (Ps. 16: 11). This sense of satisfaction, of perfect satisfaction, for which all people are yearning, is my portion now, thanks to the study and practice of Christian Science.
The religion of my childhood and youth had not given me any understanding of ever-present God, God who is Life and Mind and Love and from whom man is inseparable.
The events of World War II deeply grieved me; but I kept praying to God, as I then understood Him, for protection and for enlightenment. Then someone put into my hands several copies of The Herald of Christian Science, French Edition. I read them eagerly. I found in them the precious sense of the ever-presence of the Christ, for which I had been searching for a long time.
