I started studying the Christian Science...
I started studying the Christian Science periodicals about twenty-five years ago when I was suffering from chronic constipation. So I went to a Christian Science practitioner, who gave me a treatment, and the trouble soon disappeared.
About twenty years ago I had a severe cold. My whole body was painful. I lost my appetite, and on the second day I came home after work and told the landlady that I would not want anything to eat. So I went out to take a streetcar to a neighboring city to see the same practitioner I had been to before. He gave me a treatment and a Christian Science pamphlet to read.
On the streetcar going home I was still feeling as miserable as I felt when I went over there. Just then I thought about the little pamphlet the practitioner had given me, and I took it from my pocket and began to read it. In that very instant all soreness and pain left me, and I started to get hungry. By the time I got to my hometown ten minutes later, I was so hungry I had to go to a restaurant and get a good supper. I went to work the next morning as if nothing had happened.
