RADIO PROGRAM No. 192 - The Power of Christianity to Heal

QUESTIONER: There's a great deal of turmoil in the world of religion today. All forms of religious activity are being questioned, and healing is no exception. I think many people find it hard to understand why, in this age of scientific progress, a number of denominations are giving attention to Christian healing. What would you say is behind it?

SPEAKER: I suppose it stems from the fact that many people are beginning to question whether or not religion is fulfilling its responsibility unless it heals. Christ Jesus' ministry was one of healing, and I suppose they begin to wonder if the church shouldn't be doing it too.

There is renewed interest in the deepest meaning of the Bible, and stemming from that is a great desire on the part of many people to let Christianity reach deep into their human situations and become more active in meeting their everyday problems. This is where, as we see it. Christian healing is so vitally important.
