The study of Christian Science...
The study of Christian Science and the practice of it according to my understanding have given me a life marked by progress during more than forty years. I started the study at the instance of a relative of my wife and expected to find its logic fallacious. The textbook by Mrs. Eddy occupied my religious reading time for about seven years. Long before the seven years passed, I had forgotten that I expected to find something the matter with our Leader's reasoning and spent my time studying the statements in the text which I did not understand.
The divine Principle, Life, Truth, and Love, began to appear, and this Principle healed me of severe headaches, sometimes through the help of a Christian Science practitioner, until they ceased to recur. I haven't had a headache in many years.
Habits of smoking, drinking, gambling, salacious thinking, and the like, also disappeared. I joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, and a branch church, and had class instruction.
