No False Claim in Mind
Christian Science is indeed the new tongue of which Jesus spoke when he said (Mark 16: 17. 18), "These signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."
Those to whom the language of Christian Science is new are often puzzled by hearing disease and other forms of evil referred to as a false claim. It is often startling to hear pain, disease, and many other inharmonies called false or unreal since they seem so very real to the frightened human sense. Christ Jesus' promise that the sick would he healed in his name is being fulfilled in Christian Science in the way the Master taught.
He did not look upon the afflictions of those who came to him, believing that the afflictions were real. If he had done so, he could not have healed them. He knew that the withered hand, the blind eyes, the lameness were lies about the man that God had made; hence they were without reality. Jesus so clearly saw God as Love, as Life, as all good, that he at once cast out of thought any belief in evil as real.
