In Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy...
In Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy writes (p. 234), "Whatever inspires with wisdom, Truth, or Love—be it song, sermon, or Science—blesses the human family with crumbs of comfort from Christ's table, feeding the hungry and giving living waters to the thirsty." This sentence reminds me of a healing I had through singing hymns from the Christian Science Hymnal.
I had been having difficulty in one arm. It was very painful, and many times through the night I would be awakened with pain. I could not raise my arm or put it behind me. I was having treatment from a practitioner, who urged me to express more gratitude and joy. I did so, but the difficulty did not yield.
One Sunday two of the hymns we sang in church had the word "arm" or "arms" in them. I was immediately attracted to those words. One of the hymns was by Mrs. Eddy. It includes the lines from the poem "The Mother's Evening Prayer" in which Mrs. Eddy is referring to God (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 207),
