Opportunities, Not Problems

How many of us, when looking back over a disappointment, have seen that we were blessed or protected at the time we believed we were being thwarted. What seemed so desirable and necessary at the time appears in retrospect unimportant, or one realizes the need has been taken care of in a better way.

God's care for His beloved children is evident in the continuous bestowal of good, and this good is individually experienced in progressive and prosperous activity, happy and healthy lives, satisfying relationships, permanent and peaceful homes. We can never be deprived of that which is needed for our well-being, but we sometimes delay its appearance by self-justification and self-will or just plain doubting the ever-presence of infinite good.

Christ Jesus did not accept lack or disappointment as a problem; he made it an opportunity to prove powerless any suggestion that would claim to interrupt or annul the harmony of being. He recognized that God's kingdom is the established fact right where the opposite appeared to be, and then he demonstrated this fact by healing the sick, raising the dead, and satisfying the human need. He saw and knew only good as real.
