It would never be possible to put...
It would never be possible to put into words all the gratitude I want to express for the understanding of God that has come to me. In the Bible we read (II Cor. 9:8), "God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work." There have been many situations since my earliest childhood in which a "good work" has been amply demonstrated.
Shortly before my fifth birthday, because my older sister had wanted to show me something, she and I had pulled out and stood upon the bottom drawer of an oak chiffonier. The chiffonier overbalanced and fell, the corner of it catching me in the back of the head and imbedding itself there.
Only God-given strength enabled Mother to lift that heavy chest from my head. I remember her saying, "God is the only power." I also recall that she called a Christian Science practitioner to ask for prayerful, metaphysical help and then gently washed and bandaged my head.
