It is almost thirty years since I last expressed my gratitude through our periodicals. The years since then have been years of increasing gratitude for the freedom to study Christian Science and to realize spiritual growth through active membership in The Mother Church and its branches. The experience of class instruction and attendance at the annual association meeting are the most important events in my life. These experiences have brought me progressive purification of thought.

The daily study of the Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly brings a wonderful sense of the unfoldment of good each day, enabling me to overcome temperamental difficulties injurious to health and happiness. I have been healed of severe headaches, bilious attacks, nervous tension, and a back injury, as well as the habit of cigarette smoking.

After I had experienced the back injury, I found it difficult to get out of an armchair. I could walk fairly easily, but I could not sleep at night because of the pain. This went on for about a week or ten days, but I did not lose any time from my work as a kindergarten teacher. By the end of the week I really enjoyed my all-night sessions of studying and realizing the truth. These hours were hours spent on the heights of holiness.
