I am indeed grateful for the...
I am indeed grateful for the privilege of being a student of Christian Science. Many years ago several members of my family became interested in this religion as the result of the healing of a very young child in our family of a severe case of erysipelas of the head after the doctor had said that the boy could not live until morning.
A practitioner was called, and when I saw the child that night, I felt that if Christian Science could heal him, it must be the truth. It did heal him, and I began to study Science. It seemed difficult for me to understand, but I persisted in my study.
I was always encouraged by reading the biographies of Mrs. Eddy and by attending the Wednesday testimony meetings of a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and public lectures on Christian Science. Several minor problems were solved with the help of a practitioner, but each time mortal mind posed the same question: How do you know Christian Science is the truth? The problem might have been solved anyway.
