Activities for the Armed Services
"Are you passing the gossip along to your husband?" This thought-provoking question was asked the wife of a serviceman, whose child was suffering from skin sores produced by a fungus growth. The questioner was a Christian Science Minister for the Armed Services who had been asked to help the child.
This case occurred on an island where, according to medical records, there are numerous cases of the same fungus sores. Military doctors consider the condition persistent and difficult to cure. The child's appearance had caused her parents deep concern.
Pondering the situation prayerfully, the Minister realized that the child could be a receiver only of good; she saw that nothing could really spread except what was true. Shortly after these and similar thoughts had been voiced to the child's mother, the sores dried up, and the healing was complete.
