I am happy to be able to testify...
I am happy to be able to testify to the power of the infinite divine Mind, God, who heals all diseases. I heard of Christian Science for the first time in New York City during the Second World War.
It was not easy for me to understand the purpose and meaning of this religion, because I was a graduate medical nurse, having worked in Puerto Rico and then in New York State, For years I had been looking for a religion to meet my need.
I was in that inquiring frame of mind when I was invited to a Wednesday evening testimony meeting at a Church of Christ, Scientist. When I entered the church the congregation was singing the words of Mrs. Eddy's poem "The Mother's Evening Prayer." I felt uplifted when I heard the music and the words, which assure us that "Love is our refuge" (Poems, p. 4). The readings, as well as the testimonies, interested me deeply.
