I am a third generation Christian Scientist, and I knew the joy of attending a Christian Science Sunday School until I was twenty, by which time I was taking a baby daughter to Sunday School with me. I had many healings as a child, and also many instances of divine protection.

At the birth of each of our children a Christian Science practitioner gave me treatment. Harmony was the rule, and each birth was more harmonious than the previous one. Our children have been healed, sometimes in less than an hour, of so-called children's diseases. I have been healed, through spiritual means, of abscesses in the ear, burns, and migraine.

This last healing took place several years ago. When I was in great pain one day a practitioner pointed out that both the past and the future belonged to God. I had been reviewing a condition that had taken place a year or two before. I felt that I had handled it all wrong. When I pondered the implication of the practitioner's words, I was healed. This condition has never returned.

Three years ago, I was skiing and fell, twisting my knee and breaking a cartilage. I was unable to stand, and I silently declared the truth while I waited with the ski patrol for a toboggan to take me down the mountain. Many truths pertaining to the situation came to me. Among them were the opening lines of Hymn No. 53 in the Christian Science Hymnal,

Everlasting arms of Love
Are beneath, around, above.

There was much kindness expressed by the patrol who took me down, and also much love was expressed in the house where I was staying. Fear was allayed after I called my family, who subsequently called my teacher in Christian Science and asked him to give me treatment. Each day there was steady and rapid progress. I was able to stand before the crutches which had been ordered arrived. At the end of ten days I was able to walk unassisted. At no time was there swelling, nor did I lose any sleep.

I was especially helped by the chapter entitled "Christian Science Practice" in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and I found great peace of mind through studying it. I am grateful for the continuous prayerful help given to me by my teacher. The healing was a complete and wonderful proof of God's care.

My greatest joy was class instruction, and I eagerly look forward each year to our association meeting.
