Spiritual Activity Brings Practical Results

On page 232 of "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany," Mrs. Eddy states, "The right way wins the right of way, even the way of Truth and Love whereby all our debts are paid, mankind blessed, and God glorified." The following accounts of fruitage show the value and necessity of conducting church affairs in the right way, that is, by letting the human footsteps be the outcome of the spiritual activities of the members individually and collectively.

A church in Pittsburgh writes that in order to heal the condition of financial limitation and to improve the concept of Church within the membership, all committees were asked to base their prayerful metaphysical work on the definition of Church, given by Mrs. Eddy in the Glossary of Science and Health. Soon, increased activity was evident, more new members were received, and many individual blessings were reported. Prayerful work was continued.

At the November membership business meeting a resolution was passed to clear by the end of the year all indebtedness, including five more monthly payments on the organ loan. At the end of December the church was free of debt.
