My first healing in Christian Science...

My first healing in Christian Science was that of an eye condition which had bothered me for some time. An eye specialist had said it was caused by sinus trouble, and arrangements had been made for me to have an operation. These were canceled when I turned to Science. Through the help of a practitioner and my daily study of the Lesson-Sermon, outlined in the Quarterly, the condition slowly yielded, and after three months I discovered one day that I was healed.

I had my greatest testing time some years later when an internal condition worsened after the birth of my third child. I decided to apply myself earnestly to the study of the Bible, together with Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I studied daily while the baby was asleep.

One day I read in the textbook these words which refer to Jesus (p. 51): "He was inspired by God, by Truth and Love, in all that he said and did." The illumination of Truth as God came to me, and I felt an instantaneous healing take place. This healing has remained ever since a beacon to me.
