WORDS OF CURRENT INTEREST
[The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly designated to be read in Christian Science churches on March 15, 1964.]
Though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed (II Cor. 4:16)
The Greek appears to surest continuous action at this point— "is perishing" (or '"is being destroyed") and "is being renewed." Compare Goodspeed's rendering, '"Though my outward nature is wasting away, my inner is being renewed."
Our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory (II Cor. 4:17)
