Christian Science is the way of...

Christian Science is the way of Life, and I am discovering more each day what a beautiful way it is. In Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, we read (p. 242), "There is but one way to heaven, harmony, and Christ in divine Science shows us this way." Through the study of the Bible and the textbook we are led into paths of righteousness, joy, and security.

With the knowledge that God is man's provider, our family was guided to a suitable house at a time when seemingly few were available. Although it was small, this little house gave us immeasurable joy and had the advantage of being close to the center of town, schools, church, and library. Later we were inspired to build an addition, and all the plans were carried out in a manner so harmonious that it made us conscious of God's hand governing all. This was a family project, and, sustained by my understanding of Truth, I found myself doing work of which I never dreamed I was capable.

At one time I was plagued with headaches, lasting on occasion longer than a whole day. The last time I can recall experiencing this pain I was just sitting down to read aloud to my father the Lesson-Sermon, found in the Quarterly, thinking possibly I would not be able to get beyond the first two sections. But I became so engrossed that I found I had been able to go through all six sections and that the headache had vanished completely by the time I had finished.

In Proverbs we read (4: 20-22): "My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh."

I am deeply grateful to God for Christ Jesus, the great Exemplar, and for Mrs. Eddy, who forsook so much to bring us this great truth, Christian Science.— (Mrs.) Lois L. Wichmann, Park Ridge, Illinois.
