UNFOLDMENT
To
thought listening in stillness,
Waiting, poised in expectation,
Thought maturing, larger, deeper,
By God's gracious preparation,
Comes a dawning, surer sense
Of divine omnipotence.
If to me this gift is given,
Proof of God's resistless guiding,
Can I doubt that in all others,
Whether near or far abiding,
Even now the holy leaven
Works the purposes of heaven?
Not a single one is straying
Out of reach of Love's direction.
Universal, full salvation
All will realize in perfection,
As Truth's rod of majesty
Wakes us to reality.
