A few years ago I strained my back. The condition grew worse and prevented the normal movement of my head and arms.
One evning as I was reading from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, it came to me that I was believing that a material body was able to dictate conditions of health to me. I had to change my thinking.
Having attended the Christian Science Sunday School since early childhood, I knew that God is supreme and controls all action. As I pondered some of the truths I had learned, this statement on pages 476 and 477 of our textbook came to my thought: "Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God's own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick." It was then apparent to me that I must first see the perfect man as God's own likeness before the healing could be evident.
