I have known the glory and the...
I have known the glory and the wonder of Christian Science for more than thirty years, and every year has brought more blessings for which to be grateful. The religion was presented to me when I was suffering from a stomach disorder for which several medical doctors had failed to find a remedy and from which these same men told my husband and me that I could not recover. I had been in bed for about four months, eating only a little liquid food. Medication was given daily.
One of the doctors, who was a friend of ours, sat beside my bed and wept because of his inability to help me. My husband had known of cures in Christian Science; so when he was convinced that all had been done by the doctors that could be done, he asked me to try it.
At first I refused. My father, who had been trained for the Protestant ministry, had told me that Christian Science was just willpower. I felt that if the medical profession could not cure me, what could willpower accomplish? However, the sadness on the face of my dear husband made me want to please him, so I said I would try Science.
