Christian Science is the way of Life, and what a rewarding way! More than forty years ago I had my first proof that it heals. Since that time I have had numerous healings which can be attributed only to complete reliance on God as taught in Science. The one I am going to relate here stands out to me as evidence that God is an ever-present help in time of trouble.

I was on a cruise ship in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea and had been hale and hearty during the four weeks we had been aboard. Suddenly, one day just after lunch, which I had enjoyed with my table companions, I was stricken with a severe pain in one side of my head.

I went immediately to my stateroom and to bed. The pain was a sharp, recurring one accompanied by extreme nausea, and during each attack I would lapse into an unconscious state and then awake for a time. About two o'clock in the morning, after hours of suffering and losing and regaining consciousness, during a lucid period I found I was totally deaf. I could not hear one sound although my room was over a noisy section of the ship.
