Overcoming Subversion
True metaphysics as taught in Christian Science is the application of spiritual truths to human situations. The Christian Science Monitor is an essential part of the institution which promotes this system. The practice of Christian Science begins with absolute Truth—perfect God and perfect man. But practice demands application.
In absolute spiritual reality there is just being, God and His idea, man. There is no need for application. Here are no problems. But in human experience there are problems. These arise from the supposition that life is material and that man includes both material and spiritual elements.
The entire human scene is a problem which says to the practicing Christian Scientist, "Find what's wrong in this picture and eliminate it by lifting up what is right and recognizing its divine source." The total problem presents itself in individual instances to each one of us each day. Through facing the problem and applying Truth to it, we prove that there is only absolute being —immortal, perfect, harmonious —and improved belief results.
