Church Dedications
The Dallas Morning News
Dallas, Texas (Fifth Church).
Fifth Church of Christ, Scientist, at 5655 West Northwest Highway, will hold dedication services Sunday at 9:15 and 11 a.m., with an additional service at 3 p.m.
Christian Science churches are dedicated only after they are completely free from debt.
Fifth Church was organized in 1946 to accommodate the areas of University Park and Preston Hollow. Church services were first held in the auditorium of University Park Elementary School, and later in the Inwood Theater.
In 1954, the first service was held in the present edifice. . . . The light brick . . . structure is of contemporary design, built around a patio with the auditorium on one side and Sunday School rooms on the other.
Fifth Church maintains a public Reading Room at 6041 Berkshire Lane in the Preston Square Shopping Center.—The Dallas Morning News (May 11, 1963).
