WORDS OF CURRENT INTEREST
[The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly designated to be read in Christian Science churches on August 11,1963.]
Ye are our epistle written in our hearts (II Cor. 3:2)
When read in the light of the preceding verse, which refers to "epistles of commendation." it appears that in verse 2 the apostle is describing the Corinthians as constituting a "letter of recommendation" or, perhaps, of introduction. "known and read of all men." Paul had established the Corinthian church (see Acts 18:1-11) and was now confident of the stability of its members (see II Cor. 7:16).
