The Universal Basis of the Healing Truth
Our power to destroy the claims of evil is the power of Truth. This Truth is One, and the one Truth has all the power. False belief has no power. Truth is God, the All-in-all. Truth is Mind, the all-knowing; Soul, the infinitely beautiful; Life, the eternal; Love, the merciful; Spirit, the pure; Principle, the perfect.
Man is the idea of God. The substance of this idea is the intelligence, the beauty, the immortality, the mercy, the purity, the perfection of God. The Truth that governs these qualities governs man. Man has no other elements to be governed or influenced or affected. Therefore mortal beliefs, such as fear, egotism, lust, pride, hate, and the ills they produce, never touch the real man.
The field of battle in a Christian Science treatment is individual human consciousness. Each specific claim of sin, disease, discord, limitation, or death may be conquered as we understand the enemy to be basically the claim of a power opposed to God, good.
