My first healing in Christian Science...

My first healing in Christian Science was twenty-five years ago. My father had started attending Christian Science church services; and since the Protestant Sunday-School I was attending was closed during the summer months, he asked me to attend the Christian Science Sunday School. I consented to go for the summer. I was impressed with the Sunday School, because I felt I was learning a great deal of God.

At that time I was wearing glasses. My parents had never told me the nature of the condition, but they said that I would have to use glasses constantly for the rest of my life. As I recall, one of the first questions I asked of my Sunday School teacher was, "Can Christian Science help me to get rid of my glasses?" I shall always be grateful for her immediate and positive assurance that all things are possible to God. The study and preparation of this Sunday School teacher for her class have always been an outstanding example to me of the devotion that must go into teaching in a Christian Science Sunday School.

Upon my return to school in the fall, I had discontinued wearing my glasses. When the school nurse noticed this, she had my eyes examined by the school eye doctor, who confirmed that glasses were no longer required. A few years ago, a test was made of my eyes for employment purposes, and the examining doctor remarked that he was glad to see I had never had any trouble with my eyesight.
