Putting Off and Putting On
The world believes man to be mortal, material, corruptible, subject to sin and death. Immortal Mind reveals man as immortal, spiritual, incorruptible, immune to sin and death.
One concept is mortal mind's misrepresentation of man, the old man the Bible speaks of, that is to be put off through dematerialization of thought. The other is the true concept of man, the new man, to be put on through spiritualization of thought. In this transformation of thought, we reject what is false about ourselves and accept what is true.
Spirit is All-in-all. This means that it has no opposite. So Spirit cannot include or impart a single unspiritual element. Spirit and matter are no more compatible than are Truth and error. They are not coincidental at any point, nor do they resemble each other in any degree. The fact is that because Spirit is infinite, whatever really exists is spiritual. This fact cannot be stressed too often, since it underlies the teachings and demonstrations of Christian Science.
