My father and mother were...

My father and mother were introduced to Christian Science through the healing of a relative many years ago, and they very soon took up the study of it. Not long afterwards my father passed on suddenly, and Mother was left with four young children and little financial support. The spiritual truths that Mrs. Eddy has made clear to us through her discovery of the Science of Christianity supported my mother through difficult times. Always she was courageous, joyous, and cheerful. Her work in the Christian Science movement motivated her life.

As children we had many physical healings, often brought about by our understanding of the following passage from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 407): "In Science, all being is eternal, spiritual, perfect, harmonious in every action. Let the perfect model be present in your thoughts instead of its demoralized opposite. This spiritualization of thought lets in the light, and brings the divine Mind, Life not death, into your consciousness."

I am grateful too for the support Christian Science has given me when I have taken examinations; it has helped me to understand that there is only one Mind, or intelligence, and that man reflects this Mind.
