I should like to share an experience...
I should like to share an experience I had at the age of twelve while at camp with eighty other girls of my age. The first year I went to camp I was permitted by the camp authorities to have my Bible with me, but not the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The second year my request to have both books was granted. Though everyone in camp was of a Protestant faith, I was the only student of Christian Science.
One evening I felt a severe pain in my side. I started to declare the truth that there is no pain in God's kingdom, knowing that He is divine Love and the only creator, but the pain persisted. The counselor, who was a registered nurse, stayed with me to comfort me.
Later, when the others in the tent were asleep, I went down to the lake alone to pray. The fear was quieted, but the pain continued. The next morning I tried to do the kitchen duties assigned to me, but the discomfort was too great. The counselor said: "Now we will have to do something. Either you go to a doctor, or we will have to call your parents for advice."
