The marvelous and inspiring account in the Bible of Jesus' walking on the water is a helpful illustration of our assured safety when our faith is based on the spiritual understanding of God which the Master had and which he so patiently tried to impart to his followers. This spiritual understanding is urgently needed today in an age of constantly accelerating activity on land and sea and in the air. The many daily reports of accidents in connection with modern transportation should turn mankind more earnestly to a search for this understanding so necessary to their safety and well-being under all conditions.
