"I had a healing last night!"

Boys and girls who attend the Christian Science Sunday School always like to hear of how Mrs. Eddy, by turning to God in prayer, was healed of the effects of a fall. While lying in her bed, she read in the Bible the story of Jesus healing the man with palsy. As she read, she felt a great new strength come to her.

The story Mrs. Eddy read starts with these words (Matt. 9:2): "Behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee." Then Jesus healed the man.

In "A Child's Life of Mary Baker Eddy" by Ella H. Hay, the author writes of Mrs. Eddy's healing (p. 70): "As she read, a new light dawned on her thought; never before had she been so certain of the presence and power of God. In that hour of need her heart was very close to the Father, whom she had loved and obeyed from a child, and she was instantly healed of the effects of the injury."
