One of the things I am very...
One of the things I am very grateful for is the atmosphere of freedom in our home during my childhood. Both my parents were devoted students of Christian Science, and they applied it to daily activities in practical ways. There were no limitations or fears placed on us. My sister and I were taught, helped, and encouraged to turn to God in every need.
I shall always be grateful for the true sense of parenthood I gained through the understanding of God as Father-Mother and of man as His child. It has strengthened and encouraged me many, many times in recent years while bringing up our own four children.
When my parents passed on, there was no sense of separation or grief, although we were a close-knit, happy family. I can see now that the freedom of thought which pervaded my childhood home was their freedom as well as mine, and in reality nothing had changed at all.
