WORDS OF CURRENT INTEREST
[The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly designated to be read in Christian Science churches on July 22, 1962.]
A well of water (John 4:14)
The Greek term page (well) means primarily a spring of running, flowing water. Moffatt suggests, "A spring of water welling up to life eternal"; while The New English Bible has this interesting rendering: "An inner spring always welling up for eternal life."
The well is deep (John 4:11)
