My blessings have been many as a result of the study of Christian Science. The privilege of attending a Christian Science Sunday School provided a foundation for membership in The Mother Church and a branch Church of Christ, Scientist.

Instantaneous healings, quick healings, and the prophylactic effect of Christian Science have been causes for much gratitude, but some time ago I had a physical condition that was more tenacious than any I had encountered. I had no appetite, I was losing weight, and I had a cough. I tried to allay fear by declaring truths of my real being as God's child, who is spiritual, diseaseless, and sinless. The fear subsided, but the physical annoyances continued; so I asked for help from a practitioner.

She came to my home. We worked and prayed together from the basis of "the scientific statement of being" on page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, dwelling particularly on these two sentences: "Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness. Therefore man is not material; he is spiritual." I realized then that I was acknowledging my own spirituality, but not the spirituality of a certain friend. I was holding a thought of irritation in connection with this friend over a situation that was none of my business. As I saw my friend as actually God's child, my thought cleared, and healing began.
